Nails Inc has launched a Facebook Messenger chatbot to help customers find the perfect Christmas gift for a loved one. The Messenger bot, designed by creative technology agency Tangent, was built using various segmentation data points to create a more personalised experience.

Sophia Evgeniou, digital director at Nails Inc said: “As a new addition to the Nails Inc team, and at an extremely hectic time of year, it was obvious the customer journey was in need of some attention. In order to not disrupt the site and with limited time to make changes, the opportunity to try something new and fun, which is useful for customers and improved their journeys was one we couldn’t say no to.

"We’re always looking for new ways to engage and excite our customers. Conversational experiences and messaging are increasingly being used by brands to interact with their audience and drive sales. Our new gifting experience is really just the beginning of our messaging roadmap and we look forward to launching new experiences next year.”

Nadine Clarke, lead strategist at Tangent added: “Chatbots enable brands to create experiences in what we believe is the next big interface: messaging. Through conversational UI and machine learning we’re able to facilitate connections between customer and brands through meaningful interactions which ultimately drive results."

The chatbot can be found here.

Tangent works with brands including Sky, PepsiCo, Net-a-Porter, The Labour Party, SAP and Carlsberg.
