Likefriends welcomes five international appointments to global team

Likefriends bolsters global position with five senior appointments

Likefriends has hired five new talents to join their growing team in Amsterdam.

Joining the ranks of the creative department are Coleby Thew, as creative technologist, and Fillipo Fagnoni, as junior creative.

Thew, originally from the Sunshine Coast in Australia, will be focusing on applying new technologies to both new and existing clients. Thew was previously at Isobar and Keplar, working on accounts like Grolsch, Opel and Philips before joining Likefriends.

Commenting on his appointment, Thew said: “I jumped on board because I could see the power that being part of such an international and globally focused team would bring. Not only culturally, but all of these people have put themselves out there, put themselves in vulnerable situations to be where they are now. This is powerful when focused on forging new forms of empathetic relationships between people and brands. I mean, It’s all in the name, ‘Likefriends’.”

Italian born Fagnoni has lived in Germany, Switzerland and America in the past 12 years before moving to the Netherlands. He joins Likefriends as a junior creative and produces music in his spare time.

As well as hiking up creative efforts, the agency has made senior additions to the account management department. Mark Toal Lennon joins as account director, Dean Brandt as account executive and Denise van Breemen as project manager.

Originally from Ireland with a strong background in digital marketing, Lennon has relocated to Amsterdam to leverage global opportunities such as Marriott International.

“Relocating from one European digital hub to another has helped to further broaden my perspective in terms of approaches to developing innovative strategies to serve the needs of global clients.

"As the industry evolves, the need for brands to develop own-able properties intrinsically linked to the communities they serve is becoming increasingly pertinent. While agile, multidisciplinary agencies like Likefriends are perfectly positioned to help brands navigate this new landscape. Likefrends' horizontal agency structure and appreciation for hybrid department leaders provides the ideal environment for my background of account management and strategy, while also allowing me to explore my creative ambitions through a variety of projects,” said Lennon.

Brandt is the agency’s new account executive and will work on PepsiCo and Sportlife. Before Likefriends, Brandt worked in various online marketing positions. He originally comes from the innovative digital hub in Israel, Tel Aviv.

Denise van Breemen, originally from Amsterdam, has started as a part-time project manager, and has worked as a communications specialist prior to her current role.

Founder of Likefriends Stef de Jong comments on this successful bolstering of agency offering: “The fact that this fresh new team is as international and versatile as it is fits with the ambitions of our agency perfectly. 80% of the brands we work for operate globally. We help brands to make a difference with people. The rich mix of cultures and nationalities in our team enables us to develop brand properties from new perspectives. I am positive that this team will help take Likefriends to the next level and we are proud to have them on board.”

Likefriends is an international agency, working for clients such as Lays, Marriott International, Randstad and Mountain Dew Europe.
