Dentsu Aegis Network announces key leadership changes in APAC

Dentsu Aegis Network announced that Sean O’Brien, chief executive officer, Carat Asia Pacific, will be appointed chief executive officer of MKTG and Posterscope in APAC, while Kevin Walsh will be promoted from managing director to chief executive officer of Carat Asia Pacific.

This move follows Dentsu Aegis’ continuing its push into APAC with acquisitions in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, and senior appointments in the US.

O’Brien’s new appointment comes after six years at Carat where it has grown the market 2.5 times and tripled the size of the business. In 2016, O’Brien and Walsh won over $1b of new business, according to the network.

“Under Sean’s leadership Carat has delivered exceptional growth and has developed a high quality product in markets across the region. Sean will now focus on the development of two agencies with outstanding growth opportunities in Asia Pacific – MKTG and Posterscope. Posterscope is a pioneer of out of home advertising and MKTG a leader in experiential marketing. We need strong leadership to maximise the opportunities the digital revolution is creating in both businesses. Kevin’s promotion represents the smooth execution of the Carat leadership succession plan,” said Nick Waters, ceo, Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific.

O’Brien will now oversee the acceleration of digitsation of Posterscope, including the roll out of “Liveposter” and expanding MKTG’s APAC presence and assets.
