The Drum

Business on the Move: the government, Kellogg’s, Grolsch

The UK Government

The UK government has overhauled its communications service roster, choosing 36 agencies to cover creative, strategy, direct, digital and social, partnerships and PR. The roster is split into two frameworks - the first is campaign solutions which will cover major campaigns and the second is communications services for more tactical work.

The creative lot includes MullenLowe London, M&C Saatchi, Lucky Generals (for the first time), Mother and Adam & Eve/DDB among others. Havas UK is included in the digital marketing and social media lot alongside agencies including FCB Inferno, MullenLowe and Blue State Digital.

Kellogg’s has appointed Havas PR to handle its cereals PR across EMEA following a competitive pitch. The contract runs until the end of 2017 and covers Pringles, snacks and the cereal business.

Grolsch has appointed Wunderman Amsterdam to handle its global digital account as it eyes expansion into international markets, following a competitive pitch. The agency will now be tasked with leading the firm's digital marketing transformation by placing the channel at the heart of its global efforts.

Tennent's and Bulmers have appointed Lucky Generals with leading their creative campaigns. The London-based creative agency will develop the Tennent's Lager and Bulmers Irish Cider brands, both of which are owned by the Dublin-based C&C Group. Lucky Generals won the contract with both brands without a pitch and will start working with them immediately.

Exterion Media has appointed Eulogy as its retained UK communications agency following a competitive pitch involving multiple other agencies. Eulogy will develop an on-going strategic comms programme to support Exterion Media’s business across the UK, connecting the business with transport and retail franchise and advertiser audiences.

Swarovski has appointed TVC as its strategic content agency to promote its partnership with the 2016 Fashion Awards. TVC’s remit includes content strategy, creative content capture and hosting.

Activation shop Undercurrent has expanded its offering with the formation of branded content division The Drop, as well as the launch of two other agencies under the Undercurrent Group umbrella.

The Drop will be marketed as a full service content production agency, specialising in video content for social media and offering clients the added service of 360 film. The outfit will handle briefs from concept through to post-production and distribution, having done so already for Samsung and EE ahead of its official launch.

Saga have appointed Havas helia after a competitive pitch process to work on its customer engagement strategy. The appointment of Havas helia forms part of a strategic shift that sees Saga moving away from a product-centric to a more customer centric view of the world.

Licensed toy manufacturer, Sambro has appointed Peppermint Soda to deliver scoping and marketing strategies, as well as media relations and social media management – both content and advertising – for its range of Star Wars products.

Peppermint is also working alongside umbrella service provider, I-PAYE, handling a comprehensive corporate rebrand, including brand standards and guidelines, as well as website design and development. The agency is providing the same branding and website services to capital allowances specialists, Catax.
