Jerry Seinfeld has plenty of Emmy nominations to his name, as well as a win. His Crackle series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, has been nominated several times under the Short Format category. But it seems that the comedian has gotten back to the big time, with a nomination for a Variety Talk Series Emmy, along with late night mainstays like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Seinfeld, 62, told the Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview, "To be still in a world of trying to innovate at this stage of my career is thrilling."

In that same article, Seinfeld also talked about how his show, now in its eighth season, may be ready to jump from the web to either network, cable or streaming outlets.

“There are a variety of forms that this show might take. Nothing is set yet. It's just conversations now, but there's been a lot of interest,” he said to the Hollywood Reporter.

What makes Seinfeld’s world so intriguing for studios is the fact that he gets some true heavy hitters, and not just in the entertainment world. His NBC show made him one of the most beloved comedians, and his ability to continually connect with his audiences makes him a favorite of other comics and stars alike. The fact that he was able to get President Obama as a guest speaks to his star power. He also hit a feel-good nerve when he had Garry Shandling on, another comedian loved by many, just shortly before his death. It was a touching moment when the two hugged.

Even after eight seasons, Comedians is still at a high point, and Seinfeld is still having fun with it. Perhaps it’s that easygoing nature that helps keep it atop the favorites of the Emmy voters. He would love to bring guests back, like the Tonight Show used to do with many repeat guests. In his case, he named Alec Baldwin, Sarah Silverman, Bob Einstein and Larry David.

No matter who he has in the car, it’s always a good ride.
