UK Top Shazamed Ads: Going all 'Hip Hop' pays off for Volkswagen

The Drum's Shazam chart is based on the number of times each ad has been Shazamed over the past week using the music identification app.

Volkswagen has entered the chart at number eight this week thanks to 'Hip Hop' by Dead Prez.

The automaker's spot for its Tiguan compact SUV makes use of the 1999 track to show how the car can seemingly turn an uncool parent into a cool one ahead of the dreaded school run. The song is heard blaring from the model's built-in sound system as a little girl marvels at her Dad's effortless cool - which is scuppered when he attempts to meet her half way on a first bump.

Meanwhile, there's another fresh entry from Vodafone, which places at number five with a little help from AronChupa's summer hit 'Little Swing'.

Boohoo has also entered the chart with 'Hotter Than Hell' by Dua Lipa Elsewhere and BBC Radio 1 holds on to the top spot with Alan Walker's 'Faded'.
