Digitas Studios and Facebook Creative Shop will create programming together

DigitasLBi held their NewFront in NYC last week and announced a new partnership with Facebook Creative Shop. While Facebook has not yet made the kind of moves Netflix, Hulu and Amazon have to create original content, many speculate they might.

While this partnership is more about Facebook and Digitas Studios working to create unique opportunities for clients (while leveraging Facebook) it's important to watch any investment by Facebook in original content.

Here are the details from DigitasLBi:

  • Digitas Studios and Facebook Creative Shop team up to co-create built-for-feed, audience-first branded programming
  • The programming includes, “Rise & Shine” is a first-of-its-kind: a deconstructed morning talk show, built-for-feed and delivered to mobile in the morning. The personalized, ever-changing content includes local weather, workouts, recipes and more
  • Content will live across Facebook platforms
  • “Rise & Shine” messenger bot will enable viewers to subscribe and get content delivered on-demand
  • DigitasLBi will offer a first look of the programming to its client portfolio following the NewFront event
  • DigitasLBi and the client will own the rights to the content
