Brian Williams set to make on-air comeback at MSNBC later this month
Former anchor of NBC Nightly News Brian Williams is set to return to the network on 22 September with a gig at MSNBC.
He’ll anchor live breaking news that day and will likely be covering Pope Francis’s first visit to the US, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Williams was suspended from the network in February for six months for lying to viewers about his experiences reporting on the Iraq War.
Lester Holt has taken his spot as anchor of NBC Nightly News, a position Williams held for more than 10 years.
In his new role at MSNBC, Williams will not have a dedicated hour but will work on various afternoon programs, The Hollywood Reporter said.
