Hyundai creates Instagram quiz in new ad campaign

Hyundai has taken a progressive social media approach in its latest advertising campaign with an Instagram quiz designed to help users decide which of its three SUVs would best suit them.

The SUV Life style Quiz uses 18 separate Instagram accounts, 390 images and background algorithms to match the user up with one of its latest SUVs- Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport or Tucson.

The ad was created by Californian-based ad agency, Innocean USA, and askes users a series of questions with multiple choice answers available in picture form. Each answer leads to another Instagram account with the next question and users are task with deciding on things such as their favourite time of day, something they wouldn’t leave home without and where they’d rather be at that moment in time.

It marks a somewhat unique approach to the car manufacture’s advertising strategy while making use of the growing popularity of advertising on Instagram. It is not out with the norm for the automobile industry however. Recently Land Rover employed an audio-visual advebture story on the platform with two stories comprised of hundreds of tiles to interact with, and 20-30 films per adventure.
