Facebook has released a number of tools giving users extensive control over their newsfeeds in an unprecedented switch-up.

The social network has given users more control than ever before of their News Feeds, allowing them to prioritse content intheir streams through a new preference menu.

By selecting who they want to see first when they visit the site, users can help the social network curate what posts are most important to them.

Jacob Frantz, Facebook product manager, said: “We’re always working to improve and personalise your News Feed experience. We know that ultimately you’re the only one who truly knows what is most meaningful to you and that is why we want to give you more ways to control what you see.

“To help prioritise stories, and make sure you don’t miss posts from particular friends and pages, you can now select which friends and pages you would like to see at the top of your News Feed.”

Currently, the feature is only available in the iOS app but will be rolled out to Android and desktop users in the coming weeks.

iOS users, don’t forget to Like and prioritise The Drum for all the breaking updates in media and marketing.
