SMG names Marcus Brown first global growth officer for EMEA

Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG) has appointed Marcus Brown to the newly created role of global growth officer for EMEA.

Brown will be responsible for driving growth and performance in the region to deliver precision, content, and technology to clients.

Previously, he was a founding contributor to a consultancy called 3LA. Prior to that, he served as chairman and chief executive of Young & Rubicam Group Geneva, where he oversaw multilingual campaigns for clients such as Adobe, Nestlé Purina and Caterpillar.

He also was the founding global managing partner for Tech Y&R, the agency’s branch for technology clients.

Of his appointment, Brown commented: “Starcom MediaVest Group has an admirable reputation of fueling transformation with some of the world's most iconic brands. A reputation that has been earned by innovating faster than competitors. The chance to work in the media sector with such a talented and driven team, as they continue to transform, is simply great.”

Brown will be based in London and will take up his new role on 1 June.
