Global media agency Carat has appointed former MEC group strategy director, John Paul Cadman as head of strategic planning, to lead the agency’s planning output.

Cadman has been tasked with ensuring consistent delivery of effective and creative media planning across all the agency’s clients and will report into chief strategy officer, Dan Hagen. He will also work closely with the heads of innovation, digital and insight to continue to build the agency's overall proposition.

Hagan commented on the appointment:"As we continue to redefine the business value that media delivers for our clients, it is vital that we have clear and strategic leadership across the planning teams enabling us to take full advantage of all the opportunities offered by a convergent media landscape."

Before joining MEC Cadman held roles at OMD and CIA, and during his 15-year career has worked with brands including PepsiCo, Visa, Sony, Chanel, Canon, Colgate, Public Health England and Specsavers.
