Golf retailer, American Golf is to sponsor Sky Sports golf coverage, through its first TV sponsorship activity across all of the broadcaster’s platforms.
The six-month deal, which will begin on 5 March, will include coverage of the World Golf Championships, the European Tour and the US PGA Tour.
Included in the sponsorship deal will be the creation of idents around broadcast coverage, a presence on the Sky Sports website, its mobile app, Sky Go and On Demand.
Daniel Gathercole, head of marketing at American Golf, explained: “By sponsoring the golf on Sky Sports we will be right there with avid golf fans week in, week out which is really exciting for us. We are committed to investing in growing the game and working with Sky Sports is a really important vehicle to achieving that.”
Staff at American Golf will appear in the idents, in-line with the brand’s current campaign theme around improving customer’s games, including Andrew Moseley.
