The European Tour, the primary golf tour in Europe established by the PGA, has kicked off a review of its creative account following the resignation of Saatch & Saatchi London.

The agency has worked on the account since 2009 and has been behind work including the award-winning ‘Every Shot Imaginable’ campaign which saw golfing stars take on impossible shots in a series of short films, for example Rory McIlroy versus The Robot (see above).

Its final piece of work will be the global campaign ‘Drama on the World Stage’, which will launch this month.

Magnus Djaba, chief executive, Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon UK Group said: "It's always with regret that an agency resigns an account on which it has created great work. But when you no longer share a creative ambition with a client, the time is right to part ways. We wish The European Tour every success for the future."

In a statement, The European Tour said it had prepared a Request For Proposals which will be issued shortly to an pre-selected list of agencies.

It declined to comment on which agencies have made that shortlist.
