Adidas has unveiled two pairs of NASA-inspired trainers designed by Christian Dior creative director Raf Simons.

The German sportswear firm enlisted Simons to design its Autumn/Winter 2015 menswear collection in Paris with featuring moonboots, the ‘Ozweego Robot’ and the ‘Response Trail Robot’.

An Adidas statement said the sneakers were “inspired by vintage astronaut suits and backpacks, moulded and machined details similar to authentic closures, zippers and straps are added”.

It added that it used "shiny versus matte distressed materials" to" complete the look of outer space".

If Simons’ designs are not up to scratch, consumers can user the Adidas app launched last May to create custom-made sneakers with Instagram pictures.
