Infographic: 15 marketing trends for 2015

From wearables to augmented reality, Bell Pottinger Digital has revealed its 15 marketing trend predictions for 2015.

The agency looked at the most talked about trends online over 2014 and the increase in mentions throughout the year to help understand what is set to be the most talked about and used trends in marketing for the next year.

James Thomlinson, partner and managing director of Bell Pottinger Digital, says: “While technology will be one of the biggest drivers of marketing change in the New Year, the key focus for brands will be on delivering truly integrated strategies.

“Every year new hardware and software appears, but the most successful brands in 2015 will be those that harness new technology to deliver a single experience to consumers wherever they are in their journey.”

Near field communications (NFC) tops the list, with the Internet of Things, wearables, internal communications and storytelling all making the top five.

Each of the top three has seen a conversation increase of over 200 per cent over the past year, with all of the top five seeing an over 100 per cent increase in conversations, suggesting that they will be trends to keep an eye on in the coming year.
