Comedian Russell Brand is facing up to being blacklisted from Twitter after tweeting a picture of a journalist’s business card to his 8m followers - contravening the micro-blogging platforms privacy rules which expressly prohibit such actions unless explicitly authorised to do so.

The offending snap was swiftly removed but not before it had been retweeted hundreds of times, making Daily Mail journalist Neil Sears readily available online.

Following the fracas Brand tweeted: “That was a bit nuts. He put it thru (sic) me door with 'please call' on it. They're bothering me mum. Deleted it. I'm human.”

Twitter reserves the right to ‘immediately terminate’ the account of anyone found to be flouting its rules but as of this morning was still tweeting.
