Ogilvy & Mather Group UK has become a member of lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) charity Stonewall’s Diversity Champions Programme, to strengthen its aim to “promote an honest and open” working environment.

The programme works with companies to provide a good practice employers' forum on sexual orientation, and Ogilvy & Mather will work closely with Stonewall to celebrate equality and diversity through events with clients and other LGBT networks.

Simon Feeke, director of workplace programmes at Stonewall, commented: “By joining the Diversity Champions Programme, Ogilvy recognises that people perform better when they can be themselves.

"Our members are forward-thinking employers who want to recruit, recognise and support the very best staff. Good employers understand that providing support for all staff improves their operational effectiveness.”

The agency also has its own LGBT professional network, Ogilvy Pride, which was founded in the US in 2008, and launched in the UK at the start of the year.
