Marriott Hotels awards PR brief to BJL

Marriott Hotels has appointed BJL to handle consolidated PR support across 49 UK hotels and country clubs.

The appointment sees the Manchester agency charged with driving awareness of the hotel chain as well as lifting and shifting perceptions of the brand.

Effective immediately BJL will introduce a tiered PR strategy to reposition Marriott’s premium offer among leisure travellers. The agency is facilitating all regional press office activity and specific campaign brand support.

Katie Cox, field marketing director at Marriott Hotels praised BJL’s “clear understanding of our brand, our challenges and our key target markets”. She added the hotel chain as “delighted to bring them on board and we are looking forward to benefitting from their strategic thinking and enthusiasm.”

BJL group account director, Rebecca Hardy, commented: “We’re hugely proud and excited to have earned the opportunity to work with such a well-known and highly respected brand as Marriott. We look forward to implementing our plans and working with the individual hotels to offer a consolidated PR approach.”

Additionally a framework to maximise PR locally will roll-out across Marriott branded properties with supporting social media to run across the hotel and country club network.
