Millions of Brits will turn to their smartphones and tablets to buy their Christmas gifts on 30 November, retailers have claimed.
Just like Black Friday – the last Friday in November - Sofa Sunday is expected to be a high point for internet retailers.
Jon Owen, retail director at Shop Direct, owner of brands such as very.co.uk and Lttlewoods, said: “Sofa Sunday is when they browse from home. It’s a moment for online retailers to take back share from stores.”
The retailer is planning to kick off a £1m campaign around the period, having recorded its biggest ever day for sales on Very.co.uk during the retail event last year.
Between 9pm and 11pm is set to be the busiest period for m-commerce, it has been suggested.
