Mindshare has sought to build on its integration of mobile technology with the hire of Somo’s Neil Bruce as head of mobile.

Having worked on brands such as Paddy Power, Blinkbox by Tesco, Sky and Shop Direct while at Somo, Bruce will now develop new exclusive relationships for Mindshare UK in the mobile space and work within Mindshare’s global network of mobile specialists

He said: “Seeing the work that Mindshare has done to grow its mobile services in the context of an integrated media offering convinced me that this is the place to be to invent the future of mobile marketing.”

Bruce will report directly to Nick Adams, head of digital development at Mindshare UK.

Adams said: “Mobile is already a significant part of Mindshare’s business and with Neil’s appointment we are well placed to expand further in to new strategic growth areas within the mobile space. Neil has a real passion for the power of mobile technology to enhance the communications mix, and he brings fantastic experience of working across several mobile performance brands which will further add to our specialist knowledge.”

The appointment comes shortly after Mindshare promoted James Chandler to the role of global mobile director.
