Content creation agency Hangar Seven has acquired Media Ark, the video content producer for retail and consumer brands, as part of efforts to corner the fast growing sector.

Media Ark was established in 2007 by travel journalist Matt Carroll and TV presenter Julian Hanton who steered a path into specialised online video production for the likes of DFS, Yahoo, The Travel Channel, American Express, Tesco and The Guardian.

Under the deal Carroll and Hanton will take up residence in Hangar Seven’s London offices to oversee Hangar Seven’s existing video creation, production and distribution services.

Michael Keating, one of Hangar Seven’s founding partners, explained; “Video is undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing communication mediums in the content space. We have seen sales treble in the last 12 months and bringing Media Ark’s team into the Hangar Seven crew will help us meet this rapidly growing demand.”

Carroll added: “Storytelling and the humanisation of brands is something that all agencies are talking about right now – but very few actually have the expertise to deliver. Media Ark’s unique editorial pedigree and proven track record in creating films that humanize brands on film, in an engaging and compelling manner, combined with Hangar Seven’s extensive production resources and expertise in content creation, will help us to increase sales and fulfil wider business objectives for our clients.”

Hangar Seven’s existing clients include the likes of Asda, Dixons Carphone, Karcher, Barbour International, Marks & Spencer, Burton Menswear, Adidas and Wilko.
