Graphic design festival to launch in Scotland this month
A graphic design festival is being launched in Scotland in a bid to provide a better network for the industry, organiser James Gilchrist has said.

Festival: The event is being held at The Whisky Bond
The festival will take place between 22-26 October at The Whisky Bond in Glasgow – a commercial hub for creative businesses - and has been organised by Gilchrist and Beth Wilson of Glasgow-based Warriors Studio. The festival will have mentoring opportunities for up and coming designers and allow them to showcase work.
Organiser Gilchrist told The Drum: “Across Europe there are a lot of other design events that are really kicking off at the moment and it’s really boosting the whole design scene and the international design landscape by having events like these across the world.
“I thought now was the perfect time to introduce it to Scotland – countries like France, Belgium and the Netherlands are really accelerating.
On the industry in Scotland itself, he added: “I think there’s definitely a lot of very good creative studios and very good graphic design agencies but part of the festival’s purpose is to unite and connect all of these people and groups.
“There is a lot going on but it seems quite sporadic so we wanted to create something that brings people together.”
