Yes comes out on top amid more than 7 million tweets on #indyref, Twitter reveals
More than seven million tweets about Scottish independence have been sent since the first debate between SNP leader Alex Salmond and Better Together's Alistair Darling in August, Twitter has revealed - and the Yes campaign came out on top.

In the last 48 hours alone, Twitter exploded with debate and the social network recorded 1.5 million mentions of the subject.
Analysing the numbers, Twitter found that the Yes campaign was the clear winner on the social media platform with more than 1.55 million people using the Yes campaign hashtags against only 500,000 linking to the No campaign - a difference of more than a million mentions.
The most-retweeted tweet on referendum day came from tennis star @Andy_Murray, who shared his decision to support the Yes camp with his 2.7 million followers. The tweet was shared more than 18,000 times
