Plusnet’s Joe returns in a new advertisement for the home phone and broadband provider filmed at an actual cinema in Barnes, South London.

The campaign, created by Karmarama, aims to bring to life Plusnet’s deals which start from just £2.49 a month, when taken with Plusnet line rental.

The concept centres around Joe’s opening line that “you don’t get much for £2.50 these days – it doesn’t even get you through the opening credits of a movie...”.

Plusnet acquisition marketing manager, Chris Cotterill, explained: “We are very proud of the great value deals we are offering on our unlimited services, and the creative in our new advert showcases our latest deal in the typical lighthearted Plusnet way.”

Stephen Pipe, who directed the advert, added: “As a comedy director, it's great working on a brand that has a comedian as part of its advertising. It's a great way to get across so much information in an entertaining and amusing way.

“When you watch the commercial you can't help but warm to Joe and you're left with a real smile. We can all remember a good joke - we very rarely remember a boring lecture.”

The TV ad will be supported with video-on-demand activity as well as below-the-line PR activity promoting the new deal through personal finance and consumer media.
