French Connection has teamed up with Channel 4 magician Troy for a London taxi advertising campaign which sees drivers handing out magic cards to passengers.
Calling the campaign “unique” and “unusual”, Jennifer Roebuck, multichannel marketing director at French Connection commented: “We wanted to give passengers something special to take away with them, so in addition to branded receipts, drivers will be handing out FCUK magic cards, which represent a range of different prizes, redeemable when presented in-store.”
Each card contains a unique code with prizes from 10 per cent off to £100 worth of gift vouchers available. The branded taxis also showcase the high street chain’s A/W collection and were used to the range’s launch at the Oxford Street FCUK branch.
A Twitter campaign running in conjunction with the taxi fleet is also giving Londoners the chance to win a £1,000 spending spree if they spot one of the cars simply by tweeting a picture of it to @FCUK along with the hashtag #NeverMissATrick.
Andrew Barnett, MD of Ubiquitous added that taxi advertising is “the perfect format to target the city’s fashion-forward capital” and that the magic cards provided “a unique twist to the campaign, and a brilliant incentive to passengers.”
Drivers of the cabs have been given briefing sheets to help them answer any questions passengers may have about the promotion.
