Shamed TV entertainer Rolf Harris has been sentenced to five years and nine months for 12 counts of indecent assault upon four girls, one of whom was an eight year-old looking for an autograph.

Harris embarked for the sentencing on a boat with his daughter Bindi

The 84-year-old paedophile was convicted of 12 assaults between 1968 and 1985, on an eight year-old child and three teenagers aged between 13 and 19.

Sky News has reported that Mr Justice Sweeney, speaking at Southwark Crown Court, said: “All of your offences in counts three to nine were committed in breach of trust of her parents. Two of which incidents took place in her house.

"You clearly got a thrill from committing the offence while others were present or nearby. Whilst such others didn't realise what you were doing, their presence added to the ordeal of your victims.

He added: "You are no longer in the best health, your reputation lies in ruins... You have no one to blame but yourself."

The TV personality visited websites such as ‘My little nieces’, ‘Tiny teen girlfriends’ and ‘Russian girlfriends’ but wasn’t tried for the four counts of looking at indecent images of children.

Harris’ earlier used Leveson libel threats to intimidate newspapers from reporting his allegations.
