The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has worked with Edinburgh and London-based Heehaw Digital to create an animated video explaining how it works across screen, print and online.

The video explains the inner workings of the ASA and how it works with an independent council of people from a wide cross section of society to judge if an advert breaks the rules.

Of the animation, which was produced and created by Heehaw, the ASA’s Natasha Downes said: “Heehaw did a great job of distilling lots of information we wanted to get across into a short but really dynamic video that shows clearly how we work to keep ads responsible and clear.”

Toby Trueman from Heehaw added: “ASA commissioned Heehaw to create an animated promotional film to engage with their audience and, in the simplest of terms, explain exactly what it is they do. We worked closely with their existing branding and iconography to tell the story, ensuring each message of the script was accurately represented on screen.”

The finished film is now showing on the homepage of the organisation’s website and is part of the ASA’s plan to build its online presence.
