Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet has unveiled the latest film in its ‘Defining Moments’ campaign, this time featuring internationally acclaimed photographer Dan Holdsworth.

So far the ‘Defining Moments’ series has profiled the likes of Lionel Messi, Le Bron James, Sachin Tendulkar and Michael Schumaker.

Holdsworth’s film ‘A Volume of Light’ sees the photographer share his ‘Defining Moment’ which happened when he was invited to take photographs in the remote location of the Vallée de Joux in the Jura Mountains.

Also known as Little Siberia for its extreme weather conditions the Vallée de Joux gave Holdsworth the freedom to explore the interaction between time and light and also the opportunity to explore a different sense of time, one that might differ to our perceptions and understanding. Working with long three hour exposures, during both day and night, Holdsworth work shows the Vallée de Joux in all its glory.

The film was directed by Jonny Madderson and produced by Just So who followed Holdsworth into the depths of the night in sub-zero temperatures to capture the images.
