Two killed as car mows down pedestrians at South by Southwest
A driver has been taken into police custody after the vehicle he was in crashed through temporary barricades set-up for the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, killing two people.The incident occurred at 12:30am this morning when a crowd of 20 people came into contact with the vehicle, most of whom had just minor injuries and were immediately transferred to local hospitals.Two victims were less fortunate however and were pronounced dead at the scene with up to seven others described as having more serious injuries.
Individual is in custody. More details shortly. The names of the deceased will not be released until proper notifications have been made.
