The Online Media Awards, celebrating the boldest and most original purveyors of news and views from around the world, has launched with a number of new awards for sales and marketing professionals in online media.

The awards, now in its fourth year, have previously recognised publications like The Guardian, The Sunday Times, Channel 4 and BBC News for their services to digital media.

But for the first time categories like Sales Team of the Year, Marketing Team of the Year, and Media Sales Professional of the year will recognise the commercial talent behind successful publications.

A dedicated commercial panel – including Aptitude CEO Marc Hartog, editorial director and deputy MD of Dennis Technology, Tim Danton, and ‎Content Amp co-founder Francis Turner – have joined the likes of CNN’s VP of digital Nick Wrenn, and a number of other award-winning editors and journalists including Chris Boffey and Mark McSherry to judge entries.

Deadline for entries for the Online Media Awards, sponsored by iomart and Unanimis, is Friday 14 March. This year's media partners include NUJ, Press Association, Press Gazette, Cision, Society of Editors and British Journalism Review.
