Gorkana Group has announced the appointment of Dermot Corrigan to chief commercial officer, as the media intelligence service looks to build into new markets.

In the newly created role, Corrigan’s main responsibility will be to align sales, marketing and product management activity across the Group in Europe and the US. He previously worked as MD of Executive Analysis and CEO of Imprezzeo and held senior roles at LexisNexis and PR Newswire.

Jeremy Thompson, CEO of Gorkana Group, commented: “I am delighted that Dermot has decided to join Gorkana Group. Our paths last crossed over 12 years ago at PR Newswire where he led some strong growth in the European division. Since then, Dermot has built additional experience in the media and analysis industries and I am sure he will make a significant contribution to Gorkana’s continued success.

“Gorkana has grown strongly over the past year, both in the UK and in international markets. We believe we are doing something truly different in the market. We want to be the place where PRs and the media connect, and our services and community support that ambition”.

The appointment follows those of Jeni Chapman, US managing director, and Myles Johnson, chief financial officer.
