Candy Crush maker King hires BBC Radio's head of marketing Nicki Sheard as VP brand marketing

Candy Crush Saga maker King has hired Nicki Sheard from the BBC as VP brand marketing.

Previously head of marketing for BBC radio, Sheard will be responsible at King for leading all above the line marketing, licensing and merchandising, player insight and social media for games such as Candy Crush and Farm Heroes Saga.

Alex Dale, chief marketing officer at King, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nicki to the King team. She brings with her an unrivalled track record in growing brands and will play a vital role in building on our already successful games franchises including Candy Crush Saga and Farm Heroes Saga, as well as driving the growth of our newer games titles.”

Sheard added: “I am extremely excited to be joining King at this time. It’s a refreshing and innovative company buzzing with talent and creativity and I am looking forward to helping them develop and extend their brands and grow their business.”

Prior to working at the BBC, Sheard was a consultant at McKinsey and spent time at Procter & Gamble.
