eBay founder to launch Snowden-themed magazine
Pierre Omidyar, the billionaire founder of eBay, has announced his intention to start publishing a new Snowden-themed online magazine from next week.
The launch edition is said to focus on classified government documents stolen by Snowden and will be edited by Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras, two journalists with close links to the fugitive whistle blower.
Investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill, who co-authored the film Dirty Wars, will also lead the title.
The new magazine will be published by First Look Media, funded by Omidyar, which has been established to create a ‘family’ of new online magazines; including a flagship general interst website which will debut later in the year.
