Skrill, the online payments company, has appointed Steve Revill as vice president of marketing.

Revill joins Skrill from Positive Momentum, a consultancy specialising in strategy, sales, service, marketing, leadership, talent, operations and process.

Revill said: “This is an exciting time to be joining such an innovative company at the forefront of facilitating an increasingly global online economy. In an organisation such as Skrill, marketing must lead the charge in building awareness of and demand for the solutions that can revolutionise how online businesses achieve their potential.”

At Skrill, Revill will be responsible for all marketing activities across business and consumer audiences, reporting to Skrill’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, Craig Doyle.

Doyle added: “Steve brings to Skrill considerable expertise in marketing customer-centric solutions across the financial services sector, and will be pivotal in driving demand for solutions that can translate the potential of online businesses into reality.

“Skrill continues to meet the diverse needs of merchants and end users all over the world, facilitating progress towards its objective of being the preferred choice to pay and get paid globally. Steve will implement a strong marketing strategy that will accelerate our progress and enable us to deliver against this goal.”

Skrill is one of Europe’s largest online payment systems and among the world’s largest independent digital wallet providers with over 36 million account holders and 150,000 merchants using its payment gateway solution.
