Amazon compensates for missed Christmas deliveries with gift cards
Amazon is offering $20 gift cards to customers who found themselves affected by Christmas shipping problems which prevented orders from being fulfilled in time.
The problem lay with UPS and FedEx, who both admitted to being ill-equipped to deal with the soar in purchases made in the run up to Christmas. UPS apologised, saying that “demand was much greater than our forecast.”
Groupon has followed Amazon’s example, and is dishing out $25 gift cards to those who didn’t receive their gifts before Christmas Day.
