Apple has finally signed a deal with China Mobile - the country’s biggest mobile phone company - to offer iPhones on its network.

China Mobile: Bonanza for Apple?

The reported deal is expected to give Apple a huge boost in the world's largest mobile market, according to the Wall Street Journal.

China Mobile’s subscriber base is seven times the size of Verizon Wireless, America’s s largest carrier.

The rollout of iPhones on the world's largest mobile carrier by users, with over 700 million subscribers, is expected to start later this month.

China Mobile is one of the world's last major carriers that doesn't offer the iPhone.

Key to the whole deal , suggests Bloomberg, is that at an event on Dec. 18 , China Mobile plans to unveil a brand for its fourth-generation, or 4G, network. China Mobile executives had said they would only begin to sell the iPhone after introducing 4G services.

Research firm Trefis said China Mobile may sell about 1.5 million iPhones per month, with almost 20 million additional iPhone activations possible in 2014.
