Airbnb has launched a new app in a bid to make hosting a more seamless experience that can be started, and finished, on a mobile device.

The company acts as a middle-man for hosts, who have living space they would like to rent out, and holiday goers looking for accommodation.

With more than 350,000 hosts across the globe, Airbnb has released new features across iOS and Android come which will allow hosts to completely cut the desktop cord and do everything via a mobile device.

“Hosts define the Airbnb experience, but they are busy people who are always on the go,” said Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb.

“Our goal is to make hosting as easy as possible through incredible mobile experiences, world-class hospitality initiatives, and new ways for hosts to connect directly with each other.”

To make the process easier there is now Host Home, a dashboard that allows hosts to quickly respond to incoming messages, accept bookings, manage guests, update calendars, and request photography.

Airbnb has also launched nine new Hospitality Standards, having worked with hosts to pinpoint key moments that define a great guest experience. These standards have been embedded into the app and made easily available for hosts looking to better guest experiences.

Additionally, Host Groups, a new product to connect Airbnb’s community of hosts, allows hosts to create groups in their neighbourhoods, cities, or around the world to share best practices and learn from one another. Finally Inspired Travel is a feature which showcases Airbnb’s most inspiring properties—from treehouses to tipis to houses where Jim Morrison lived.

The new app rolled out this today following a live event from Aibnb's San Francisco headquarters.
