The Telegraph Media Group has extended its commercial partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to beyond the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The partnership extension will see copies of the Telegraph available in corporate areas of the stadium on match day, as well as the TMG becoming an official digital news channel to England Rugby.

Keith Perry, managing director of sport at TMG, said: “This partnership goes through to 2016 and falls at an extremely exciting time for the game. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the RFU and their partners. We have a massive number of rugby followers amongst our customer base and we are working with brands to develop innovative ways of engaging this core audience.”

The deal will have event opportunities with England coaches and players for loyal subscribers who will also benefit from events and discounted products, including tickets.

“We’re extremely pleased to secure this extension of our partnership with Telegraph Media Group to include the NatWest Schools Cup and annual fundraising support for a community rugby initiative. Sophie Goldschmidt, RFU chief commercial officer, said. “Both will continue to strengthen the Telegraph’s commitment to rugby beyond the Rugby World Cup and we look forward to continuing our relationship over the next three years.”

The Telegraph’s editorial team for the sport will be led by Mick Cleary and will feature former England stars Will Greenwood, Brian Moore and Austin Healey.
