Mother London has appointed Matt Groves, former Saatchi & Saatchi director of integrations, as its first operations director.

The appointment, which follows Sara Tate being recently named managing director, has seen Groves become responsible for leading all integrated production and overseeing the London office’s design practice as well as its digital capabilities.

“Matt will be joining us at a time when we are innovating and re-inventing the way we make things. He will be critical as we continue to make dramatic advances in our digital capabilities. It’s an exciting time for us and we can’t wait to have him on board,” explained Tate.

Andy Medd, a Mother partner added: “We took a long time to find Matt, because his skills are rare. His talent is going to make us all better. He’s a really terrific person too, so we are looking forward to having him round our table. He will be a great addition to Mother.”

Groves joined the SSF group in 2010 as director of integration at Fallon and later moving to Saatchi & Saatchi where he oversaw the acquisition and integration of the social and digital agency Outside Line into Saatchi’s.

Prior to that he served at Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, unit9, and McCann London.
