A a subscription-based feminine hygiene brand backed by Lovefilm co-founder William Reeve has turned to crowdfunding to support a fresh drive to challenge the current UK market.

Brand: Trinkets is a subscription-based product

Trinkets was founded three years ago by Australian co-founders Genevieve Murphy and Kate Barry, who said they were surprised at the “limited” choice of feminine hygiene products in the UK compared to Australia.

Having launched their own range of natural cotton tampons – a subscription based service which comes with regular delivery to a customer’s home - the pair have now turned to Seedrs in search of £165,000 to create a new line of products and fund an update to packaging and branding.

Murphy said: “We welcome all investors but we would love to see women from all over taking control and investing in the ultimate product designed for women.

“Seedrs provides a simple platform which allows anyone to invest anything from £10 into a startup company and we would be thrilled to see women and current Trinket customers investing in our products.”

The pair hope that by crowdsourcing the funding to take the brand forward they will build a significant challenger to the dominant brands in the market.
