The latest business to jump aboard the Breaking Bad bandwagon, following Monday’s Lego meth lab, has found that capitalising on the show’s popularity isn’t a piece of cake.

Glasgow’s Riverhill Coffee Bar sought to cater to fans tastebuds with a limited edition ‘blue meth’ range of cupcakes, topped with a layer of cracked blue sugar.

Far from whetting the appetite of patrons however they have left them feeling blue after a local anti-drug group and politician rounded on the stunt as serving to glamourize drug use.

Speaking to the Evening Times Green party councillor Nina Baker said: “The cafe might try to pass it off as a joke, but I don’t think it’s funny.”

Undeterred however the shop’s owner has pledged to cook up a fresh batch of the product in time for the series finale on 29 September.
