Yummi launches second screen engagement strategy in Singapore

UK based digital marketer Yummi has announced it has just signed a deal with Singaporean cinema chain Shaw Theatres to launch its second screen engagement technology to link smartphones and tablets to film and TV content at each of its sites in the country.

The technology “combines a series of detection technologies that trigger content without the need for a 3G or WI-FI connection.”

Yummi chief commercial officer AJ Simpson said: “It is tremendously exciting for a UK start-up to be working with such powerful partners across the globe and attracting major investment from abroad too.”

Terence Heng, VP Media of Shaw Organisation, said “We have always embraced technologies that will dramatically enhance the cinema-going experience. With cinime, we are extending it beyond the movie – we are engaging our patrons before and after the movie as well, and they will get a whole lot more from a single visit to Shaw Theatres. “
