Following the country’s recent change in equality laws, Tourism New Zealand is launching a competition to find the first Australian same sex couple to be married in New Zealand.

The campaign launches on Facebook

The Marriage Amendment Act comes into effect on 19 August, and Tourism New Zealand is looking to find a couple to be flown to the country to be married on that day.

Eleven PR havs designed the campaign, which launches on Facebook. The prize includes accommodation and a wedding reception.

“We wanted to give Australians the chance to be part of history and make it possible for one Australian same-sex couple to become the first to marry in New Zealand,” said Tourism New Zealand’s general manager for Australia, Tim Burgess.
