Online Media Awards announces 2013 nominees including The Times, Sky News and BBC

The Online Media Awards has announced the nominations for 2013 across 25 categories including website of the year, best use of social media, best Twitter feed and best freelance writer.

The awards, sponsored by iomart Group and IE School of Communication and supported by NUJ, Society of Editors and the British Journalism Review, aim to recognise and reward the best in online news and journalism.

Some of the biggest names nominated this year include The Times and Sky news with 10 nominations each and Channel 4 News and ITN with 8 nominations, as well as al-Jazeera, AOL UK Ltd, BBC News and Financial Times.

Smaller organisations including Lancashire Telegraph, PinkNews, Herald and Times group, Belfast Telegraph, Nursing Times and Agrimoney.com have also received nominations.

The awards ceremony will take place on 12 June in the Emirates Stadium.
