McCann Worldgroup Europe has announced the promotion of Nikki Crumpton and the appointment of Zaid Al-Zaidy to its strategy team.

Crumpton is being promoted to co-regional strategy director for McCann Worldgroup Europe, a role she will share with Gary Bonilla. Al-Zaidy will take over her previous position of chief strategy officer of McCann London.

Gustavo Martinez, president of McCann Worldgroup for Europe & APAC, said: “With these appointments, McCann Worldgroup is strengthening our strategic expertise for our clients across Europe and in London. Both Nikki and Zaid have the depth and breadth of experience, working on large multinational clients and award-winning campaigns, to set the strategic direction across London and Europe. With their guidance and vision, we can continue our credo of uncovering universal truths to drive our clients’ brands.”

Al-Zaidy, who joins from TBWA\London where he held the same position, will become part of the management team at McCann London, and will have oversight of the strategy department of the office. His scope includes the strategic direction of the agency.

Crumpton will take on a wider remit of oversight of strategic duties for McCann’s European clients and will also lead a new sustainability consultancy practice for McCann, based out of London.
