LBi has appointed former Deloitte consultant Sophie Ling to the newly created role of chief people officer.

Ling is responsible for redeveloping the agency’s employee offering and launching a culture and talent engagement programme, reporting to CEO Anil Pillai.

She will build on existing cultural initiatives including LBi’s well-known annual rave and Summer of Love, which in which employees were granted two hours off each Friday throughout last summer.

The move is aimed at helping retain core talent within the agency.

Pillai said: “As everyone in the industry knows, finding and nurturing talent is a top priority. I’ve made it my personal mission to find an established practitioner like Sophie who can help LBi to become A Place Like No Other as we move into the next stage of our evolution.”

Ling has over 15 years’ experience in organisational design, mergers and acquisitions, employee engagement, change and transformation management and implementation of talent strategies for organisations including Agency.com. More recently she has held consulting roles for Deloitte and KPMG.
