Reports have surfaced that EE is looking to stop new subscribers from joining Orange and T-Mobile as it forges ahead with rumoured plans to phase the two brands out.

EE launched last October, following its merger with Orange and T-Mobile. It made its super-fast 4G mobile service exclusively available under the EE brand, and has since ensured that all sponsorship deals go under the EE name, such as the 2013 Baftas deal.

However, one source told the Telegraph: “Those brands will definitely not be around forever.

EE has denied wanting to do away with the older brands, with a spokesman saying: “EE continues to operate Orange and T-Mobile as part of the EE family of brands, with customers of all benefiting from being part of the biggest and best network in the UK."
