A self-described ‘award winning creative digital design agency’ has been labelled ‘charlatans’ on Twitter after apparently passing off pictures of other design studios and work as its own.

am-webdesign, which claims to have offices in Manchester and London, was caught out after uploading pictures to its Facebook page purporting to be of its design studio.

The images actually show the offices of Salford-based Raw, whose team and company name can be seen clearly in the photographs.

Raw said on Twitter: “These charlatan's (@amwebdesigncom) are pretending our studio space is in fact there's — http://www.am-webdesign.com/about/ #cheekybastards [sic]”

It has also been suggested by Twitter users that am-webdesign’s supposed client list is not all it appears.

The company promotes Adidas, Nando’s, NHS and Channel 4 as clients on its homepage, and claimed to have designed the website of New York make-up artist Heather Conlan.

But Conlan wrote on Twitter: “Sad to see @amwebdesigncom claiming that their company designed my beautiful website done by the very talented @chadtafolla.”

Am-webdesign has not responded to phone calls or an email about the claims.
