Pinterest has unveiled a web analytics tool, which will help users discover the number of clicks through to their website each pin is providing.

The tool will help businesses discover how many people have pinned from a page, the number of views each pin has had and how many users have clicked through to a website from a pin.

Available for free for companies with a verified website, it has been rumoured that Pinterest may also roll out a feature giving suggestions based on what has already been pinned on a board.

The launch of the analytics tools seems to be the first move by Pinterest towards monetisation, with the site looking at a potential advertising system.
